Volvo Wagons; who doesnt love them?

If you are over the age of 20, you have probably had at least the following experience with Volvo Wagons; You’re College Roommate owned one, You went on a Road trip with them,  Your first car was a Volvo, or you were like me, and wishes you just had one because they are are so damn simplistic and utilitarian.

The first Volvo wagon, called the PV455 Duett – was built in 1953. From the Volvo 240 to the Volvo 850, the lineage is pretty obvious with every generation of Volvo, despite them going from Swedish ownership, to American, and now to Chinese (Geely).

Volvo now has a variety of hatchbacks that could be classified as a wagon, and the C30 blurs the lines as a 4 seater, sport hatchback.   Oh, modern times.   But I digress, and a discussion about what the automotive world even calls a Wagon could leave us having a shoving match about the Honda Crosstour.  (ew.)

Comment below if you have a Volvo Wagon story you would like to share.

Also,  our friends at Turbo Bricks are keeping the pre 90s volvos alive and kicking.

Growing up my parents had a Volvo. I think it was a 240 Polor in gray. It felt like a slug on the freeway but we never really had problems with it. We eventually sold it.
